A short presentation of Cavern Creatures, developed by Paul Lowrance and published by Datamost for the Apple II in 1983.

The date is Lunar 4, 2030, and your goal is to find the great Underground City. Before you can reach your destination, you need to pilot your spaceship through the Caverns, a labyrinth of twisting tunnels packed full of alien creatures. The player pilots a small spaceship, which can fire straight ahead and in both horizontal directions simultaneously. The screen will continue to scroll downwards at a continuous rate, while the player-controlled ship can move in all 4 cardinal directions. Players gain points by shooting alien creatures, while they must avoid colliding with the cavern walls and aliens as they descend. Players will continuously lose fuel while they play and must shoot energy tanks to resupply. The player has a total of 10 ships, and when they are hit by alien fire they lose a life. After being destroyed, the player can choose where on the screen to reposition their ship.
