MAP 11: Demon's Inferno - 0:00
MAP 12: Battleground of the Titans - 8:52
MAP 13: Coven of Mages - 13:26
MAP 14: Inner Sanctum - 19:12
MAP 15: Haunt of Nemesis - 26:05
MAP 16: Passage to Surface - 29:31
In the fiery depths of the earth you find the entrance to the evil Lich's dimension. One day they will use bullets and plasma against demons but today your mastery of the Magic Missile spell has to do...
Red and blue Demons boast impressive 50 HP and start attacking in groups. Thankfully, you have been hoarding all those Zappers and Xterminators because now is the time to use them liberally. This slightly changes the combat to a minor strategy oriented one. On Novice you can easily do with your basic shots since Demons are about as tough as a Skeleton on Warrior.
5-6 well aimed Zappers bring one Demon down and Xterminators can be used to similar effects as a shotgun even against a small swarm at careful point-blank range.
The evil Lich himself has 100 HP and otherwise acts as his cultist Mages. However, his flaming skull magic shots cause 25 damage which is the most damage you are going to take in Abyss. Still, the dark lord is a pushover with so many Cure Potions (you are practically immortal even with the more cumbersome strafing on DOS) since his pattern otherwise is nothing special.
Was that really Nemesis..?
I would say Cure Potions on Warrior should have healed less. 10 HP? 20 HP? Something completely different? I do not know. The balancing is already weird in places. Nevertheless, Cure Potions are too potent on Warrior and perhaps on Novice too. Could be an interesting optional "game mode" on the port at some point to change them in some way akin to "limited mana" mode in Catacomb 3D.
The last map in the series is always a monster free road to freedom!
In Abyss, there is a secret room which houses all of the game's cheat codes. You know. That time when there was no console in games with, more or less, universal commands. Funnily enough though, they were immediately changed in Armageddon.

Brought sword to a projectile fight over hazardous terrain. [DOOM 2] DemonSteele - MAP26-MAP27](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mJWCWpuJHuw/mqdefault.jpg)

I played the two maps and then saved and then... found out I never hit Record
That is why the game state is different and my score is unfortunately inflated because I had to cheat and move two maps back... [DOOM 2] DemonSteele - MAP09-MAP10](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mXeMz-cIOqA/mqdefault.jpg)

I love the Iron Maiden transformation. I guess not using techniques very much at the very least saves me souls to transform often.
Hae-Lin is faster than Doomguy so she probably got very briefly stuck in the small space around the switch and therefore the platform stopped raising. Ah well. Shameless noclip! [DOOM 2] DemonSteele - MAP16-MAP17](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/nb61eZIQY_k/mqdefault.jpg)

You can charge through projectiles, you can slash some of them or you can block them with your sheath. I like to forget that. [DOOM 2] DemonSteele - MAP05-MAP06](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/p4R0pU1l7Eg/mqdefault.jpg)
![[DOOM 2] Lufia2.WAD
I cried more than during the wedding scene.
Lufia 1 title screen. Lufia 2 battle theme. Has nothing to do with Lufia.
I was just curious when I saw the title of the WAD. Released: 1997.
The author clearly gave up on the project from the start. Interestingly enough, MAP02 still has custom music from Chrono Trigger and MAP03 from Dr. Mario but there are no actual new maps.
That is it, kiddos. Try to force your way through pointless masses of hitscanners. [DOOM 2] Lufia2.WAD](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pCfRgsc1kdQ/mqdefault.jpg)
