Dorian is a powerful category 5 with increasing impact in the Bahamas today that will last more than a day. Latest projections have the storm making a turn to the north, after leaving the Bahamas, to keep it just offshore of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas but there will still be large impact onshore. Remember that the track can be anywhere within the cone so a landfall on Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas is not impossible.
