he hardest part of this game wasn't building a car empire... it was actually getting it to run.
Today we are going live on the Windows 98 rig to play a hidden gem from 2001: Car Tycoon. While the actual economic simulation and car designing are surprisingly simple and fun once you get into it, getting this game installed and running on period-accurate hardware was an absolute nightmare of a project.
After wrestling with installation errors, hardware quirks, and classic PC temper tantrums, the battle is finally won. We are firing it up today to see if all that troubleshooting, cable-swapping, and driver-wrangling was actually worth it.
