New WR as of 3/2/2013 thanks to a new major time saver. Instead of grabbing the shield rod, doing the chapel statue skip, and grabbing the sword card to do the shop glitch, it turns out you only need to use the fairy familiar's greeting to activate the glitch. Thanks to Brazilian glitch hunter "jackobones" for finding that out.
Other thanks go to Dacidbro for helping to find consistent setups for the floor skips and the Dracula relics skip, MikeMuscles for doing TAS/emulator work to break down all the glitches for us, oozaroo and kainblox for bringing the fairy glitch to the SotN speedrunning community's attention and putting it into the any% route, and to everyone who has supported me and watched over the years as I've run this game.
This is obviously very easy to improve, and I even chose not to attempt the new library floor skip in the interest of finishing a run and having better splits to beat. Now when I do attempts, I will be attempting the library skip and resetting if I do not hit it. The run will be much harder to beat, but a sub-18:30 run should come eventually.

![[OBSOLETE] Castlevania: SotN (XBLA) speed run in 31:19 w/ commentary - part 1/3
The guest commentator is UltraJMan. The run was completed on 9/23/2010 and was recently accepted to SDA to obsolete my old XBLA record of 32:57. A higher quality download will be available from the site after the upload process. For now, enjoy the run on here!
I mention reading the text comments for the run in this video, but you are unable to do that yet. So... just ignore that comment lol. [OBSOLETE] Castlevania: SotN (XBLA) speed run in 31:19 w/ commentary - part 1/3](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/JPtNTl_QuDc/mqdefault.jpg)
