Vindsvept, fantasy music | Castle Grove - Emotional/Folk Music @Vindsvept | Uploaded 5 months ago | Updated 7 minutes ago
You probably wouldn't think it, but this is one of the weirdest tunes I've written. It's messy, sure, but that's true for most of my little compositions. I've been enchanted with the idea of strange key changes lately. Normally you walk up, because going up makes things brighter and feels like a lift. It's a pretty common thing to do in a final chorus to give it that extra bit of oomph.
This tune, however, does the opposite. The first lead section starts in Am, and the verse drops it down, and is repeated twice, so when we finally land on the last lead section we've dropped all the way down to Fm. Instead of that lift, we get a continuous drop, and it affects the timbres of all the instruments in a really fun way. Not only does it get tonally darker, the feel of it changes quite a lot in context.
Thank you very much for listening!
