3D Printing and Metal Casting and Cuban link chain in situ... it can be done!
Cuban chains are always popular but not everyone has a jeweller's talent. But anyone can 3D print and that's the place to start!
I designed a Miami-ish Cuban Link using ZBrush and printed it using Bluecast X One resin. I then cast it in situ... but would the links all melt together? Well, I guess that's down to how well I designed it 😁

Home grade DLP printing has just got better thanks to the Anycubic Photon D2, a worthy successor to the Ultra. Here I put the D2 through its paces, loving every minute.😁
Im a huge advocate of 3d resin printing and have watched in awe as these home grade printers have gotten better and better. But maybe were reaching the end of what LCD technology can give us. I get the impression that Anycubic think so, as this is their second venture into the world of DLP 3D printers, and wow, what a step forward it is. Genuinely this is likely the best 3d printer available at this end of the market!

Wax Castable resins can often be tricky, requiring extra thick supports and tricky cleaning / curing processes. Liqcreate seems to be something different, so I was keen to give it a try.
Ive tried a lot of castable resin over the years and the price generally reflects the capability of the product. For that reason I wasnt hopeful of this Liqcreate product. I expected setting issues, printing difficulties, burnout residue and poor castings. But I couldnt have been more wrong.
Liqcreate has impressed me. From the easily accessible support information on their website, right through to the final cast. Its certainly a product Id encourage anyone to try.
