The castle of Folignano, or Fulignano, is a fortified complex located in the hamlet of the same name in the Italian municipality of Ponte dell'Olio, in the province of Piacenza, on the right bank of the Nure stream. The castle, built in stone and brick covered with plaster, has a quadrangular plan, a typical element of the Piacenza area, and is equipped with low circular towers on the corners; among these, the largest tower, located on the south-eastern vertex, is equipped with a crown with arch-shaped openings. The complex is surrounded by a moat, crossed on the western front by a bridge that allows you to reach the entrance equipped with a portico with six bays. Among the buildings, which have different heights, the two located on the north and south sides stand out from the others. Inside there are the remains of some frescoes. The external walls are in a poor state of conservation, while the fronts overlooking the internal courtyard are in better condition after having undergone restoration, the oratory annexed to the castle is instead in a state of abandonment.
