This is the initial song I composed on request for The 8-Bit Guy to demonstrate the Casio Casiotone MT-68 keyboard. However, it was using too many other sounds and samples so it didn't feel in tune with the rest of the demo songs for the channel. So this is to showcase a little more how the keyboard could be used in conjunction with other synths.
In addition to layering the MT-68 on both bass, chords and playing the lead melody, these were used too:
Bass: KORG Polysix, Nexus2 FM Expansion
Chords: Nexus2 various expansions
Drums: Vengeance 80s Drumkit and loops

After making that little shorts video with all the first chords played on 55 synthesizers, I finally had time and energy to tackle the full song and video. Here is Kim Wildes You Came, beefed and dressed up in all sorts of pastels and wonderful glory the 80s could muster!
Kim (and her team) already did a bang up job with the original, so it was daunting to even start doing something with this song, but I hopefully added some extra flair and oompf while paying respect to the original craftmanship.
Its actually a significant use of reFX Nexus4 and their FM, 80s and 90s expansion packs, but also a lot of Yamaha TX816 (Full DX Glory!), Ensoniq, Roland, Korg and Alesis synths all the way. I used the original album version (or maybe the Shep Pettibone US Radio Edit, hard to tell after all this time as the original files I downloaded were changed) as stems for the vocals, using Vocalremovers.org to separate the files. A little touch up and polishing to remove as much as the artefacts from this process and fattening up the choruses were done, but obviously having the original master recordings would have been best.

Since it doesnt have any other sounds, I spruced it up with some MS-10 (bass), Volca Beats and TR-Rack (drums and MIDI grand piano). Everything processed using, guess what - the Behringer X32R for some lush reverb! Hah! I betcha didnt think that could sound so sweet. ;)
