Casey won first prize with composition ‘Laying It On The Line’, in the Songwriting category for Guildhall Young Artists competition 'RELEASE'.
Casey, from Guildhall Young Artists Online says: "My song is about a breakdown of a professional relationship and the disappointment and anger that comes with this. It’s also about making a very hard decision. However the end section shows that I’m happy with my decision and I’m looking forward to the future with hope. I was inspired to write this song by listening to Paul McCartney, The Beatles and The Bluetones. The song has a bluesy-ish melody which was inspired by my interest in listening/playing jazz but also Liam Gallagher’s solo songs."
