Learn how to make a procedure fire animation without having to animate it frame by frame!
00:00 - Step 1: Draw tear drop shape
00:10 - Step 2: Apply Wave warp
00:16 - Step 3: Zero out the direction
00:21 - Step 4: Adjust the height and width of the wave
00:27 - Step 5: Duplicate the layer and adjust
00:32 - Step 5: Activate Alpha Matte on the bottom layer
00:39 - Step 7: Reverse height on the top layer
00:45 - Step 8: Increase wave speed (just a bit)
00:53 - Step 9: Set pinning to bottom edge
1:09 - Step 10: Pre-compose everything

The advantage of After Effects fire animations are that you can save time by not having to animate frame by frame, but allowing the After Effects algorithm take over to create some great organic fluid motion in your flame.
