Times characters were actors starring in their own shows:
First off we have The Muppet Movie from 1979, which is filled to the brim with meta-humor & characters acknowledging they are acting in a film by literally reading its script as it plays out.
Next up is The Simpsons in their VH1 Behind The Music parody episode titled "Behind the Laughter", this structures the family as actual actors in a sitcom going through the rise to fame and downfall of personal struggles.
Simpsons' rivals, Family Guy, tackled this concept a similar way. James Woods hosts a "behind-the-scenes" look at the show's production, treating the Griffins as real-life actors who are difficult to work with, particularly Peter who the crew would temporarily replace.
OK K.O! Let's Be Heroes literally has an episode titled 'Let's Watch The Pilot' where the characters sit down and watch their own pilot episode, even providing commentary on their acting performances.
Lastly we have Disney Dreamlight Valley, this game features characters' pasts in a meta-context that mirrors an acting career via magical projections. Mickey in particular is portrayed as a veteran actor and versatile A-list celebrity.
