This was the first train and railroad crossing I recorded on June 26, 2025. Before that, I met up with a few friends in Orlando, FL, with my main goal is to document the rest of Orlando, the CSX Auburndale Sub, and many other parts. On the way back home, while also stopping for a layover, I decided to document the rest of the CSX Sanford Subdivision, and while I did do a great job into Palatka, I would come across the first train that day, which was the Silver Meteor! Pretty much the only time the CSX Sanford Sub sees these days is all of the scheduled Amtrak trains, along with occasional locals and as needed re-routes, but that’s it really, as all of the main through-freight traffic goes via the Wildwood Sub since the state acquired the Sanford Sub and SunRail operates from DeLand to Poinciana, but I believe this line will still be around for many, many, years/decades to come as long as Amtrak still has service on it.
