Mark Carney, did he mislead Canadians?
This should be the scandal of the century.
Mark Carney appears to have misled Canadians when discussing the last minute deal he made with the United States to ensure the opening of the Gordy How Bridge.
Canadian taxpayers spent 6.4 billion according to the text of the agreement which was released last night. Carney claimed net profit. Well, we just watch this clip here. But one thing the prime minister has been clear on, the US wouldn't get any money until Canada was paid back for building the bridge.
It's not splitting the tolls of the bridge. Um it is an agreement for 15 years uh to split uh net revenues. Splitting of tolls, any sharing of the toll revenue won't happen until all of the debt all of the debt is repaid. But that revenue Carney references comes overwhelmingly from tolls.
