In this excerpt from episode 6 of the 1980 television programme COSMOS, astrophysicist Carl Sagan shows off the golden record containing field recordings and music of the sounds of Earth that was attached to the Voyager spacecraft in the hopes that extraterrestrials might someday find the probes and be able to hear what the Earth sounded like.
