Everyday Cinematic Birds | Cardinal Chicks Head Stuck in Egg! Mother Helps @EverydayCinematicBirds | Uploaded September 2021 | Updated October 2024, 20 hours ago.
The second baby cardinal chick finally broke free of its shell at around 8:15PM shortly before nightfall! The only problem was that the egg shell was stuck to its head. The chick was very weak after its long struggle to break the egg. The mother cardinal noticed this problem and helped her baby chick free itself. It took a few minutes for the mother cardinal to carefully pick away the stuck egg shell. She finally freed the chick and then went on to eat the remaining shell. Birds frequently eat egg shells as they give good calcium and deter predators from smelling the nests. Enjoy!
