The cleanest Briney fight I have ever had! Finally got the 38 (a low 38 too!) and with an A+ to boot. The coolest new addition to the fight here is a more advanced angled lobber trap I set up for last phase. This trap is really only applicable on this insanely quick pattern or the slowest patterns since otherwise the barrel will be in your way but still really cool regardless!

I finally achieved my goal in this game of beating the Expert difficulty TAS [Tool-assisted speedrun] in real-time!
The expert difficulty gives you less HP so you lose time to not damage boosting as much, so while its not a fair comparison to the easy difficulty me and so far all real-time runners have ran on, performing the fastest ever speedrun of this game even including the TAS become a cool goal to strive towards and it definitely had me push this speedrun a lot further than I would have.

For people who havent seen this game before, its a bit of a silly jank game from the SNES that I played and enjoyed as a kid. I revisited it to speedrun it and found out that its actually a very fun speedrun with tons of optimizations and interesting tech to move Dirk through the stages as quick as possible, using your health as a massively useful resource to damage boost and skip large portions of levels. Sometimes even damage boosting off your own windmill shuriken, because yes it boomerangs back and hits you lol.
I hope you all enjoy this run that I somehow got on exactly my 1,000th attempt!

Amazing day today with A LOT that happened. The biggest highlight was getting to fight my absolute favorite boss of the hack so far! Atma weapon was incredible and really shows how good BTB is at boss design.
Brave New World is a Rom Hack(Mod) for FF:6 Designed and Created by BTB alongside Synchysi and with the help of several other coders! This hack serves as a massive overhaul to the original games systems creating for a new experience in an already beloved game while keeping the things that made it awesome.
