Strand Beach is known for its powerful south-easterly winds — and today, those winds transformed the beach into something that almost looked like a miniature desert.

As the wind pushed the sand across the beach, small dunes formed along the shoreline. Bathed in the warm light of the African sunset, the patterns and textures of the sand were absolutely breathtaking.

It's one of the reasons we love Cape Town.

Even when the beach isn't perfectly calm or postcard-perfect, nature finds a way to create something beautiful. From the ocean and mountains to the wind, sand and incredible African sunsets, Cape Town is constantly changing right in front of us.
