The film documents events at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station during 1962. The topics include:

* The last test flight of an Atlas, in December 1962.
* A Minuteman launch failure in mid-October; a look at a Minuteman missile silo; and a successful launch.
* The launch of a Polaris missile from a nuclear submarine, and a September test launch from land.
* The launch of an Army Pershing missile from a mobile launcher.
* An Air Force Skybolt missile dropped from a B-52 bomber.
* The last Titan I launch, in January.
* The first Titan II delivery, transport and deployment at the launch pad, and the first Titan II launch in March.
* President John F. Kennedy's visit to Cape Canaveral on September 11, 1962.
* TIROS weather satellite launch.
* Project Big Shot, a polyethelene balloon launched into space.
* The first Atlas Centaur launch in May, ending in failure.
* The launch of Mariner 2 to Venus on an Atlas Agena in August.
* ANNA (Army, Navy, NASA, Air Force) geodetic satellite launched on a Thor Able in October.
* A joint U.S.-U.K. launch in April on a Thor Delta.
* The Telstar 1 communications satellite launch on July 10.
* The first American orbital human spaceflights with John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, and Wally Schirra.
* Expansion of launch operations with the acquisition by NASA of land on north Merritt Island. The film references the Saturn C-3, the Saturn C-5, and Nova.
* Work to complete Launch Complex 37 for Saturn.
* A Saturn C-1 delivery to Complex 34, and launch of SA-3 which exploded a dummy warhead of water in the upper atmosphere.
* The X-20 Dyna-Soar program.
