Haunting Ground (aka Demento) is one of Capcom's most overlooked survival horror titles and well worth seeking out.

Released in the spring of 2005 shortly after Resident Evil 4 on the PlayStation 2, Haunting Ground sold poorly, but gained a fanbase and cult classic status over the years and has become a bit of a collector's item.
Pulling heavy influence from the Clock Tower and Resident Evil series, Haunting Ground has one of the best implementations of a pursuer system in a survival horror title. One pursuer is among the very best I've come across. Haunting Ground also has my favorite iteration of a dog companion, Hewie, in any game with some wonderful AI that leads to a great bonding system with Hewie and Fiona.
The use of body horror and voyeurism in Haunting Ground creates an unsettling experience where it leaves a lot of blanks for the player to fill in themselves.
Haunting Ground is very much worth a play if you're a fan of survival horror. While I'm not a huge fan of the constant remasters we get these days, Haunting Ground would be a perfect candidate for one due to its limited availability. Its limited availability has led to high prices for physical copies of Haunting Ground.
It’s unsettling, bizarre, and absolutely worth revisiting—or discovering for the first time.
