A3C Volume 8 commemorates the 14th anniversary of the A3C Festival and also marks the eighth year that the A3C Festival & Conference and iHipHop Distribution have joined forces to bring listeners this illustrious series.
The A3C compilation series has been influential within the genre, serving as a barometer to gauge which artists will become renowned staples in the ever-changing hip-hop landscape. Past compilation artists include G-Eazy, Curren$y, A$AP Rocky, Yung Bans, Action Bronson, Vince Staples, Kodie Shane, Buddy, Smoke DZA, Rapsody, Dave East, Freddie Gibbs, Lucki, Thouxanbanfauni, Trademark Da Skydiver, Mick Jenkins, Sir Michael Rocks, Robb Bank$, and Jimmy Wopo, among others. For this reason, the compilation has seen praise from various outlets including Apple, as its editors raved, “the A&R rep has done a commendable job, cherry-picking some of the most promising, would-be rap stars from countless wannabes.”
As in past years, the 2018 compilation will continue to spotlight the genre’s foremost emerging artists with approximately 50 tracks from the newest generation of hip-hop's torchbearers.
The first single from A3C Volume 8 comes from San Antonio, TX native Cap Gold. As a 19 year-old who has quickly taken over Texas’ underground scene, Cap Gold has all of the makings of a prolific artist, and that's clearly showcased in the video for “HighClass Fever.” Shot on location by Justin Perez, Cap finesses in the visual just as he does on the menacing track itself, rapping through his gold grills until the local police force arrives. When presented with adversity, the choices are binary: flight or fight. How one answers the call will dictate their legacy. Will they be weak and falter, or will they be great and respond? On “Ride Out,” Cap Gold proves that he’s trending towards greatness, as he doesn’t view obstacles as hurdles for him, they’re building blocks.

Hailing from Madison, WI, 20 year-old Trapo is often regarded as one of the hottest independent artists in the country. Self-described as literally living in the studio, Trapo began recording and mixing his music from his bedroom in the fifth grade. When his debut mixtape,The Black Beverly Hills, arrived in late 2015, it quickly garnered ‘best new artist’ designations from Pigeons & Planes and BBC Radio 1. He followed the successful project with the quick-strike EP, SHE, spawning the hit single “Chicago,” which rose to No. 2 on Spotify’s Global Viral Tracks chart in April 2016. Trapos follow-up album, Shade Trees, released in November 2016 would continue to earn him praise and he has become a rare member of Pigeons and Planes 20 Under 20 list for three consecutive years in a row. March 7, 2018 - Chicago, IL - SD has unveiled the title track from his highly-anticipated full-length project, Pay Attention, which is set for release on April 6th through Truly Blessed / iHipHop Distribution. The Trauma Tone produced single, Pay Attention, is the follow-up to SDs highly successful 2017 tracks Sacrifice and From The Bottom, for which both tracks and videos have garnered millions of streams/views to date. Pay Attention like the previous two tracks is available for streaming on all services (Link Below).
SDs influence and inspiration comes from the uninviting, bleak reality of the Chicago streets, where he, Chief Keef, the late Fredo Santana and Lil Reese, built a movement that continues to influence a generation and have a ripple effect through the hip-hop genre. At a young age, SD made his mark by creating a niche style of hipster urban music, including an element of cool kid/gangsta rap and was prominently featured in videos from Chief Keef, Danny Brown, Riff Raff and more.
SD would establish himself through a string of highly-successful and critically acclaimed mixtapes, particularly the three volume mixtape series, Life of a Savage, Life of a Savage 2 and 3. In 2014 SD made his debut on iHipHop Distribution, with the revered album Truly Blessed, which changed the game for rappers from Chicago, as SD introduced his own sound in order to achieve personal milestones he set for himself. Truly Blessed would receive praise from outlets including Pitchfork and the Fader, while Fact Mag would rank it as a top album of the year. In 2015, SD released the fourth installment in the Life of a Savage mixtape series as well as the Just The Beginning mixtape. In retrospect, SD says that his driving force in his life is his daughter, who shows him a higher purpose.
