Vinland Saga is a Viking anime following the story of Thorfinn, as well as Askeladd and most important today, Prince Canute. Through some dark twists and turns, across the harsh sky of the north, Canute emerges from an impossible situation alive, but not the same. After seeing the horrors of his world laid bare, having both a royal and common perspective, the Prince becomes twisted into a leader from duty. He has a unique perspective that, based in rejection of his father, decrees that God has abandoned humanity after his forbidden fruit, so they must evolve and create a heaven on earth. This new set of ideals gives us some of the greatest scenes ever. His transformation may seem simulated, but it’s actually rooted in an extreme level of development and detail we’ll be discussing here today, in our profile “Canute: Anime’s Best Transformation | Vinland Saga,’ while we wait for season 2.
