As a play on the term "cannonade," here is my barrage of canons. For those of you unfamiliar with the musical canon, a canon is a piece where a melody is repeated over itself with a slight delay. These canons are only two-voice canons but canons can have many more voices than just two. When listening to these short canons, try to hear the moments where one melody imitates another.
Overall, this was a very fun composition to write. It got me more into the counterpoint mindset and I feel like I learned (or maybe relearned) a lot while working on this. I perhaps hope to revisit this idea at some point and maybe go through 24 little canons all in different keys.
