In this video I go over how to setup custom buttons on the Canon EOS R and give some tips on how I have mine setup and why I have it set that way.

You don’t have to have your Canon EOS R setup exactly the same way I do but hopefully you’ll get something out of this video. Even if it’s just that have custom buttons set up is a good idea.
The little start button is called the AE lock button!
Here's what canon says about it - "The AE Lock function allows you to lock your exposure settings, and continue shooting without your ISO, Aperture, and Shutter Speeds constantly readjusting as you recompose your shot. The AE Lock button on Canon EOS cameras is denoted with a * symbol and is placed within easy reach of your right-hand thumb."
