AllOffroad 4x4 | Canning Stock Route by 4WD 2019 | Part 6 | Tiwa Well - Rudall River - Desert Queen Bath @AlloffroadAu | Uploaded September 2019 | Updated October 2024, 8 hours ago.
Follow us on part six of our epic 4x4 Canning Stock Route Crossing. The CSR Traverses three Australian Deserts, the Great Sandy Desert, the Gibson Desert and the Little Sandy Desert and covers over 1800km of remote overlanding by 4wd without access to a workshop, hospital or emergency services. There are two local indigenous communities where you can refuel (if fuel is available)
After camping for the night on the Slate Ranges, we make our way towards the small indigenous Comunity of Parngurr. We stop a Tiwa Well 26, which is the only wholly restored Canning Stock Route well and imagine what the early droves would have gone through to water the stock. We encounter the probably hardest Dune on the Canning Stock Route. Nex stop is well 25 [Warntil] and 24 [Katarru Native Soak] which used to be an important meeting place for the aboriginal people. We take a detour via the Harbutt Ranges enjoy 80km without corrugation.
We find a nice camp for the night and explorer some waterholes with water. In Parngurr we have the privilege to meet Mr Neri Neri Morgan
who still lived the indigenous nomadic life until the end of the 60th but now has travelled the world to represent the Martu people. A fascinating man. We check eagle hole waterhole, fill up in Parngurr and make our way into Karlamily Rudall River NP and camp next to Desert Queen Bath.
