On this stop of our San Diego adventure, we visited the Cannibals: Myth & Reality exhibit — one of the most unique museum experiences we’ve ever seen. This thoughtful (and completely gore-free) exhibit explores the real history behind cannibalism across cultures and time. Through artifacts, historical stories, and interactive displays, the museum challenges common myths and asks visitors to consider the difficult situations people have faced throughout history. From survival stories like the famous Uruguayan rugby team in the Andes, to learning how the term “cannibal” was used by explorers throughout history, this exhibit really makes you think. It’s educational, interactive, and surprisingly thought-provoking. Our family is always looking for experiences where we can learn something new together — and this museum definitely delivered.
