By the late nineteenth century, caned furniture was extremely popular and was being mass-produced. Today, it's easy to find antique pieces at junk shops and yard sales but the caned panels are often in need of repair. Rajiv caned his first chair seat during the pandemic and was thrilled with the results. Today, he tackles a bigger piece; a loveseat with curved rails. Caning is time consuming, but it's not complicated. With time and patience, anyone can learn to do this themselves.
