In February and March 2013, helicopters and rescue swimmers from Canada traveled all the way to southeast Georgia to train for rescues at sea. This allowed the Canadians the opportunity to escape the bitter cold at home and train in warmer waters with their American colleagues. Training partners included aviators from Coast Guard Air Station Savannah and research vessels from Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary off the Georgia coast.
