There’s a major shift happening in housing across BC, and you may already be seeing it in your own neighbourhood.
In an effort to create more housing, traditional single-family lots are increasingly being redeveloped into large multiplexes—sometimes accommodating 12, 14 or even more bedrooms on a property that previously held one home.
The goal is to create more density and supposedly more attainable housing, but there’s an important question we need to ask: Are we actually creating the type of housing families want and can afford?
