Safety code 6, which establishes recommendations for safe use of radio frequencies is explored here. Safety Code 6 is the de-facto document that municipalities and cellular providers rely on to promote that their equipment falls below recommended, healthy guidelines. But this document needs further exploration, as explained in this video.

Dear Mayor Basran,
I’ve had a number of people forward your response letter to me regarding the controversy of Kelowna’s 5G Pilot Program. After reading this letter, I see that your blanket response is that you are relying on the Government Of Canada’s Safety Code 6 as authority that what you are doing is harmless to the city.
This letter provides simple bullet points that you should review before you determine that Safety Code 6 applies to this pilot program. As an elected government official, you have a fiduciary and moral duty to do your due diligence by reading and considering the points presented here.
Here are the issues that arise when taking a closer look at Safety Code 6:
1. Safety Code 6 describes limits that occur with short term exposure (reference period of six minutes) as it applies to only two adverse health effects - 1) Heating Of Tissue and 2) Nerve Stimulation (Section 2, Paragraph 2).
2. Safety Code 6 admittedly does not address “acute, chronic and/or cumulative adverse health risks from RF field exposure at levels below the limits outlined in Safety Code 6. It dismisses those afflictions, saying, that there is no present “basis” for the occurrence of those afflictions. Yet a cursory review of the 46 footnoted references shows that there are the highest level of concern (e.g. Footnote 8: “SCENIHR” in 2009 called EMR’s as “Greatest Level Of Scale and Urgency” on wildlife systems.
3. Of the 46 Footnotes that are used as references to Safety Code 6; the most recent resource was dated 2013 - seven years ago. In fact, Safety Code 6’s most recent update was 2015. In 2015, 5G was not studied, nor available to the public.
4. Safety Code 6 describes a limit of 3kHz to 10MHz - in which I quote: “NERVE STIMULATION from induced electric fields within the body must be avoided. This is written in the code advisory, however 5G has a frequency of 24GHz to 40GHz - or 24,000MHz and 40,000MHz… up to FOUR THOUSAND TIMES the limits described in safety Code 6 with an exposure limit of only six minutes!
5. Tissue heating. According to Safety Code 6, tissue heating occurs at microwave frequencies of 100kHz and 300GHz and must be limited. At 5G frequencies, this is well beyond the advisory.
