While working on my latest project, a TM990 using the TMS9900 CPU, I built a multifunction board that included an AY-3-8910 sound generator. I say down to write a demo of it, and thought to myself, "I wonder if AI could write this for me?". I started an adventure using Anthropic Claude-3.5-Sonnet to write a FORTH program that interfaced with the AY-3-8910. Claude needed a little help here and there, but eventually it wrote the entire program, and I was able to play music on the vintage computer. For more vintage computer videos, see smbaker.com
