This video is the fifth in a series titled The Terror of Trauma that plans to explore the theme of trauma present in various horror films. This video focuses on 1992’s Candyman and its use of urban legends as a means for catharsis to address unspoken cultural trauma. The video then focuses on Slenderman as another urban legend that achieves a similar goal while questioning what we should do about the power of urban legends as both a force of healing and a force of terror.
