Pinup Palmer spent the night at my house, and before sunrise we loaded up the '62 Thunderbird and hit the road for Viva Las Vegas.
The plan was simple: meet up with two other classic cars, caravan across the desert, and get Palmer to her photoshoot on time.
The reality? Not so much.
What should have been a straightforward drive quickly turned into a series of unexpected delays, roadside setbacks, and classic car adventures. With the clock ticking and a photoshoot waiting in Las Vegas, every stop felt like it could put the whole trip in jeopardy.
Will Pinup Palmer make it to her photoshoot on time?
Will our caravan of vintage cars survive the desert drive?
Will we even make it to Viva Las Vegas?

Justin Scarred started carving tikis! In this episode, we made a cocktail featuring maple syrup from 1962 and take a look at some of his carvings.
To make the cocktail in this video:
½ oz fresh lime juice
½ oz grapefruit juice
½ oz maple syrup (grade A only)
½ oz falernum or Falernum #9
½ oz orange curaçao
1 oz soda water
3 drops vanilla extract
3 drops almond extract
¾ oz dark jamaican rum
¾ oz light rum
¾ oz gold puerto rican rum
Mix on high with crushed ice. Pour into a double fashioned glass.

In this episode, I head to Camarillo, CA in Ventura County to visit escapist bar builder Notch during the final stretch of his latest tiki bar build. Walls are still unfinished, details are coming together, and the vision is finally becoming real.
We tour the space while it is still very much a construction zone and talk with the builders bringing this bar to life. From the craftsmanship to the problem solving, this is a rare look at what it actually takes to build a modern tiki bar from the ground up.
Then, months later, we return.
The bar is finished, the doors are open for a soft opening, and the drinks are flowing. I taste every cocktail on the menu and see how the space feels now that it is alive and full of people.
