Testing the Radeon RX Vega 64 with Smart Access Memory enabled via NimeZ drivers, using an average gaming PC in 2023.
SAM - or Smart Access Memory - was originally launched as a selling point for the RX 6000 series graphics cards. However, because the underlying technology behind SAM shares a lot in common with Resizable BAR - a now decade-plus-old standard - it can be used on older AMD architectures, either by using NimeZ modded drivers or simply editing the registry. The thing is... does it actually make a difference?
