Can New York Block Federal Changes to Online Gun Sales?

New York is pushing back against a federal proposal that could change how firearms purchased online are delivered to buyers.

A recent ATF proposal could allow firearms purchased online to be shipped directly to a buyer’s home rather than requiring pickup through a federal firearms licensee. Governor Kathy Hochul is responding with plans for legislation that would require the final sale to take place in person.

Tully Rinckey attorney Anthony Kuhn spoke with News 10 NBC about whether New York can maintain its in-person requirements and how the Second Amendment could factor into a potential legal challenge.
