Something for Songtember.
Some years back, a friend of mine came in and recorded what was essentially a love song, performed with just a vocal and an acoustic guitar. What struck me about it was the somehow haunting nature of the chord sequence and how it would lend itself to being performed as an instrumental piano piece. I took some liberties with the chord voicings, stayed on the minimalist side of them and tried to pull out the very solitary feel of what the chords gave me originally . . and then expand on that a little in places. Parts of the melody remain, parts I omitted, to emphasise the (what I consider to be) harrowingly beautiful chord sequence.
So here it is...
