Can I really turn a thin, fragile piece of Florida coral into a finished arrowhead?
In this video, I take a simple flake of Gulf Coast coral and try to knap it into a usable point from start to finish. There’s a lot of debate about whether you can make a proper point from a basic flake—especially with material that isn’t ideal. This piece is thin, irregular, and honestly not something most people would choose… which makes it the perfect test.
I walk through the entire process: edge prep, pressure flaking, shaping, and the challenges that come with working coral instead of more predictable stone. Will it hold together, or fall apart before it’s done?
