We begin this chapter in Cosmo Canyon, where we get access to two game changers - Added Effect and HP Plus. How will they affect things?
Stinger (0:00) - They're pretty harmless. Sting Bomb deals 75% of your HP, but their regular attacks aren't powerful enough to be a worry. Both Frog and Small works, so it's a good place to test the newly acquired Added Effect.
Gi Nattak (0:43) - This is another one I was worried about, and for good reason. Some times I suspect HP Plus being sold in Cosmo Canyon was a choice made with challenges in mind, because without them, this would have been impossible without levelling up. However, you still need some luck here. Whoever has the Fire Ring should get taken over first. Otherwise, you risk losing a character too soon and you won't be able to deal enough damage. I gave Barret Elemental=Choco Mog to deal more damage to the Soulfires, but Elemental=Fire in his armor probably would have been better. This battle ended up taking longer than the entire last video and will most likely remain the longest battle in this challenge.
Lost Number (6:23) - Poison is a must here, otherwise you won't last long after the transformation. You might still lose depending on when poison sticks and how often he uses Lost Blow, but I don't think that's very likely to happen.
Materia Keeper (7:32) - There's no way to avoid the Cure2 and Trine counters, but again, poison will save you. Damage is starting to get pretty decent, so you'll make up for that Cure2 in no time.
Palmer (8:55) - The final boss of this chapter. Is it the toughest battle in this video? I'll let you decide.
So yeah, both HP Plus and Added Effect turn out to be absolute musts. I had to fight like 20 Cactuars to be able to afford all the HP Pluses I needed, and I estimate I won roughly half time. Thankfully, it doesn't take that long on an emulator.

I could have went in with limit breaks, but thats lame, so I decided to play it fair. Still, its nothing to worry about. One of the easiest battles in Midgar.

Since Aerith can heal, this is no problem. It just takes a while, since she needs Elemental for fire protection, so no double damage. We are now out of Midgar and even though theres already been a few trouble battles, its nothing compared to whats in store.
Btw, every time theres a battle with at least three Healing Winds, I get only that exact shot for the thumbnail suggestions, so I might as well go with it.

This is the one you were worried about, huh? Well, heres the thing. Once you get Cloud back from Mideel, you get access to many of the best toys in the game. In fact, I could just Sneak Attack KotR the remaining bosses, but Im not gonna do that just to make Vegh happy.
Instead, I will use Sneak Attack to get rid of the arms. If I dont do this, itll just get too luck reliant, since Ill have to wait for two Livewires and hope they dont miss any of the arms while praying he doesnt use Arm Grab and Lapis Laser. However, theres no way to avoid Lapis Laser completely in this battle, so you still need to make sure you survive it somehow. Once you do that, Magic Counters will take care of the rest.
