GarlandTheGreat | Can I beat Final Fantasy VII while always Berserk'd? (Chapter 3) @GarlandTheGreat | Uploaded June 2023 | Updated October 2024, 8 hours ago.
Until now, I only had one long ranged character. After picking up the Long Range Materia and recruiting Yuffie (0:00), I have three. Does it make things easier? Let's see. Before fighting her, I did the first Fort Condor battle to get the Magic Comb for Red, but I ended up only using it against her, so it was a waste of time and money.
Bottomswell (0:23) - I was a little worried about this one. Just like with Reno's pyramids, your characters will target the bubbles, but that's no help since they're immune to physical attacks. So, whoever gets trapped is lost. Bottomswell is weak to Wind, so I gave Yuffie Elemental=Choco/Mog for double damage. You could be in trouble if you lose her, but since that didn't happen, I was able to finish him off with lots of HP left.
Jenova-BIRTH (1:34) - This was over sooner than I expected and I don't think there's any chance to lose here unless you run into some really bad luck. I got the Force Stealer for Cloud from Heidegger, but HP Plus would have been a better choice, as you'll see in the next one.
Dyne (3:10) - I didn't need to level up for this one, but it's still a close call. You don't need a miss, but then you either have to get the first turn, or he must not use the 50/50 final attack. HP Plus would have eliminated all these issues, but you still could lose if he gets as much as one critical hit, or if any of your attacks miss. Especially when his HP is below half and he starts double attacking.
Reno & Rude in Gongaga (4:18) - I originally planned to make this the pre-buggy chapter, but then this video would have been really short and the next one nearly three times longer, so I decided to include this one as well. It's not very exciting, but at least I'm not ending the video with the easiest battle by far again, since the chance of dying is roughly the same as against Jenova.
So yeah, it did make things easier, but not for long. In Cosmo Canyon, we get access to two more game changes, so that makes it a better place to start the next chapter anyway.
