Dr Rhiannon Smith UNE, in collaboration with Dendra Systems, is leading research to improve the capacity for cost-effective revegetation on cotton farms by trialling new and improved revegetation methods using drone and tractor technology.
In this video, we see a demonstration of drone planting, hear from Dr Smith about her research and learn from cotton growers about why they are participating in the drone trials.
Dr Smith’s revegetation trials are part of a three-year project to help provide cotton growers with practical and cost-effective solutions to restore native habitat connectivity and boost biodiversity.
This initiative is an outcome of the Cotton Landcare Tech Innovations 2021 project funded by CRDC in partnership with the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program Smart Farming Partnerships Initiative.
