Crohn's should not kill you, nor should ulcerative colitis. With proper treatment, these diseases can be controlled over time. While there's some unusual cases where Croh's or ulcerative colitis can get out of control, in most cases these diseases can be checked and inflammation kept under control. Crohn's or ulcerative colitis should not be a life-threatening problem.
