Following with great interest Sevilla's exploration of Robert Pirsig's Metaphysics of Quality, I have gotten repeatedly stuck at Pirsig's use of the term "substance". Here we discuss Pirsig's use of the term in contrast to my own (imperfect, certainly) understanding of its use by Aristotle.
