This is how we filmed a football match like a movie using Anamorphic Lenses. We take you behind the scenes of our video project for professional football team Arka Gdynia. The final match of the season, promotion in sight and a beautifully cinematic, anamorphic aftermovie from the party celebrations.
I had it in my mind to shoot some documentary sports videography on an anamorphic lens and this was the perfect subject for that experiment. I think it worked an absolute treat.
The whole thing was absolutely crazy, because the celebrations quickly overtook the whole city and the fans were completely out of control. Pyrotechnics, smoke everywhere - I got hot ash all over my head… It was full on.
Equipment wise, 95% of the final shots included were shot on the Sony FX3 + Sirui Venus 1.6x T2.9 Anamorphic Lenses (35, 50 or 75mm).
