A dog named Ellie is brought in with alarming symptoms, and her owner fears liver cancer. During surgery, the vet discovers a severe gallbladder infection and, rather than euthanizing her, removes the infected organ, with a good prognosis. The second case follows Sassy, a Pekingese with back pain. Instead of risky surgery, she undergoes acupuncture, which successfully restores her mobility. Both dogs make remarkable recoveries.
