Big Bone Lick State Historic Site is located just south of Cincinnati, Ohio.

President Thomas Jefferson commissioned William Clark to collect bones at Big Bone Lick to be sent to the White House. The Clark-Jefferson expedition is believed the first organized paleontological expedition in the United States. Over 300 bones were gathered and shipped to Washington by way of the Mississippi River.

On this trip we do a little camping, picnicking and exploring on a fun Fall weekend.
