I found a stellar place to camp at an abandoned oil well! This well is on county land so there isn't any trespassing involved. In Alberta, there are thousands of these orphaned or abandoned wells facing a huge cleanup problem. I believe there is a case to be made for turning these into campgrounds, as many of them are on public land, and there are roads and power leading to them already. This may be a bad idea, but I figured I'd throw the concept out there and see what happens.
If anyone is curious about the tent it's a Cabela's Tent Cot, they are heavy, fairly expensive for what they are, but wow are they convenient!
