It is May 1st, which means Camp Nanowrimo is OVER! And I failed - my goal was 1,800 minutes, or 30 hours, and I ended up doing 1,319 minutes, so I fell short by 8 hours and 1 minute.
So what went wrong this Nano? First, I was writing a project that's much more challenging than usual, and it was way out of my comfort zone. Because of this, I found it challenging to do longer writing sessions, especially for the first couple of weeks.
Second, the situation in the world at the moment is a bit energy-sapping, and I think being out of my usual routine made writing more difficult than usual - energy that could have gone towards figuring out book problems was drained with forcing myself to get out of bed and work, as well as making decisions that are usually taken care of by my routine (e.g. should I get dressed today? Do I really need to wear pants?).
Finally, I've got something big happening in my life right now which I'm hoping I'll be able to announce in a couple of weeks. It was a surprise spanner in the works and has thrown my last two weeks off, but unfortunately life doesn't wait for Nanowrimo!
