Artist Cheryl Donegan shares her most recent project created during the pandemic, accompanied by a short introduction by CAMH's Exhibitions Manager and Assistant Curator Patricia Restrepo.
About the Series
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, we’re doing everything we can to flatten the curve — but even though the museum is closed, and we’re working from home, we still talk to artists around the world every day. Here in Houston, in Italy, in China, in San Francisco … artists, like all of us, are weathering the coronavirus personally and professionally.
About the Artist
Cheryl Donegan is an artist who works in painting, garments, and video. In 2016 she was the subject of a survey show called Scenes + Commercials at the New Museum in NYC. That exhibition expanded into My Plastic Bag at Kunsthalle Zurich. Following that, her exhibition GRLZ + VEILS appeared at the CAMH along with Aspen Art Museum. Throughout all these exhibitions, Donegan’s intersecting concerns from performance, to craft and DIY processes are threaded through a glimmering digital network. She lives in NYC with her family.
