Welcome to the beach episode of the anime. I heard theres a new Pokemon remake out or something so I decided to put this cover together and continue my theme of making chill songs a little angrier (this is what happens when you listen to too much Smashing Pumpkins and Eve6). And by that I mean I recorded and filmed this months ago and got held up actually releasing it until now. If you see me smiling or laughing in this video its because Im thinking about that Donald Glover bit where he talks about how you cant bring a vampire to the beach and yet there I was. Filming on the beach was a T E R R I B L E time and I dont think Ill do it again. It was incredibly windy and had my hair getting knotted up and whipping me in the face for 6 hours; it also made it hard to get good angles since both Alex and I were just trying to keep our footing on the sand. IN THE END THOUGH I think we got some great footage and the video was well worth it, so I hope you all enjoy how it turned out. I will be back soon with more metal and more Pokemon, so until then, stay Scary

Im back with another cover done through the esteemed GameGrooves label. This time for its for an April Fools Day album where we all covered some of the most over-covered songs in VGM, so I figured this was my chance to do a real version of One Winged Angel and not just sing Apple Bottom Jeans over top of it. The album is called VGM is Not a Genre in reference to Peripherys album Djent is not a Genre which is also why the album is all djent covers. Ive wanted to do a Sonata Arctica cover for a LONG time and the time is finally here! For power metal covers I always need to pull in YouTubes finest to work with, so for this song I had the keytar kween Lacey Johnson handle all of the synth work (and she also joined me on backing vocals). One. Twenty-one. You know, you know the thing. The other week Noteblock approached me about recording some guitar tracks for a remix of my favorite song from Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. Celebrating the spooky season with a cover of Stand by Him by Ghost. This album is banger after banger and if I had more time I would have done more covers from it, but Stand by Him is maybe my favorite Ghost song let alone my favorite off this album so I had to go with it. Also I promise Im not trying to sound like Tobias Forge, I just also cant really breathe out of my nose just like him. I wanted to do what I could to make the cover my own without removing anything from the original so I just flaired up some of the guitar work and added a layer of vocals an octave higher than the lead because I can.
