Test Gear…
All music files were lossless/hi-res FLAC or DSD files played locally, or in the case of FLAC also streamed from Qobuz, through Roon. The Cambridge’s Roon Ready feature was the most commonly used source.
The USB input was tested 2 ways: 1) Asus Zenbook Windows 11 laptop connected direct USB, with the PC as a Roon endpoint; 2) Sonore ultraRendu (HW v1.3 SW v2.9, my review: youtu.be/qEOOE9rP6Rs) as Roon endpoint - Audioquest Forest USB cables used in both instances.
The XLR output of the EXN100 was connected to the following amps at different times:
Burson Soloist Voyager (review pending)
LTA Z10e (youtu.be/Bft6HUsYDhE)
Niimbus HPA US5 Pro (youtu.be/lLlPJyvGSIQ)
The Single Ended output was connected to the Niimbus amp.
For speaker listening, the Z10e drove a pair of MartinLogan Motion B10 (youtu.be/D47YKAGN8iw) and a Monoprice 12” 150 watt subwoofer.
